Special Education
Services for Children with Disabilities

The Unified School District of Antigo offers a wide-range of services for students ages 3-21 who have exceptional educational needs requiring special education. Placement of children in a program is done only after thorough evaluations of specific needs and careful consideration of the children's welfare, due process rights and educational opportunities. School psychologists work with students as needed.

Programs offered include: Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Cognitive Disabilities, Speech and Language, and Early Childhood Special Education.

Students with low incidence disabilities such as autism, traumatic brain injury, hearing or vision impairments, orthopedic impairments and other health impairments have access to special education programming which is specially designed to address their individual needs. Related services such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Adaptive Physical Education are provided to students who are in need of such specialized services to assist with their educational needs.

Gifted and Talented programming is integrated into classroom instruction for K-12 students who have special abilities. Although special enrichments are offered primarily at the elementary level, students in grades 9-12 are served through many advance offerings and activities at the High School.
